Solving the Mystery of Mod Organizer's Frustrating Failure

As an avid gamer, I've grown accustomed to the thrill of modding my favorite games. For Skyrim SE, I rely on Mod Organizer 2 (MO2) to manage my extensive collection of mods. However, a peculiar issue has been plaguing me lately: MO2 fails to launch the game when I try to run it through SKSE.

This is strange considering I had upwards of 140+ mods in Fallout 4 without any issues. Update: further investigation reveals that the problem is indeed related to the number of plugins I have installed. Despite being well within the plugin limit, MO2 gives up trying to launch the game, refusing to even begin running it.

When I attempt to run the game through SKSE, the Organizer appears to load the game (as Steam indicates I'm currently playing Skyrim SE), but then promptly stops. Even on days when everything runs smoothly, this issue crops up, leaving me baffled.

To add to the mystery, all my mods are up-to-date, having recently downloaded them a week prior. A similar thread has reported a similar problem, but in my case, MO2 simply 'gives up' trying to launch the game through SKSE.
